Brian Wilkerson qualifies in Top 32 for Round 3 Formula Drift in New Jersey

Through rallied support from fans, friends and family, BMI Racing made the long haul to Wall, New Jersey to compete in the third round of Formula Drift.  With Brian Wilkerson based only a short distance from here, this would be one of his home tracks.  This would be a highly anticipated event for the Brian and the BMI team, after being unable to qualify the first two rounds due to technical issues.

BMI Racing took the opportunity of Thursday's practice to ensure the RX8 4 Rotor was running well, and to give Brian some extra seat time in the car.  After some slight adjustments, it turned in to a thumbs up situation and allowed Brian to do lap after lap.

Friday boasted another good day for Brian Wilkerson and the RX8 4 Rotor, with the first practice session going well - this was the first opportunity that the general public got to see the RX8 4 Rotor screaming in action.  Brian was first off the list to qualify, having the 8th fastest MPH in the first sector and the 3rd fastest MPH in the second sector, and after his second qualifying run he scored 63.4 and was placed 30th, and made the main event for Saturday.

Saturday started of with Top 32 practice, and with BMI Racing making some changes to the setup, Brian and the RX8 4 Rotor was put down some impressive laps.  Unfortunately due to an impact with the wall towards the end of practice, the lower front control arm was bent.  This didn't stop BMI racing do their best to fix the control arm before sending Brian back out to battle with Dai Yoshihara, unfortunately the arm was still considerably bent and hampered Brian's chances of putting up a tough fight against Dai.

BMI Racing and Brian Wilkerson move on to the next round in the Formula Drift series which will be held at Evergreen Speedway, Monroe, WA July 9-10, where they aim to improve again on this round.
